Jatamansi comes from the humid regions of the Himalayas and grows wild in Nepal. Jatamansi Essential Oil is incredibly calming and grounding and is used to lift spirits and promote relaxation and sleep, as well as meditation, prayer and spiritual applications. Spikenard Essential Oil can also promotes healthy skin and was used in ancient Egypt for beauty care.

I really liked the smell.

First, I’d like to say that most of the Spikenard essential oils on the commercial market are made with the aerial parts of the Spikenard plant (green leaves & flowers). Oils made with the greens smell NOTHING like oils made by steam distilling the Rhizomes of Spikenard; where true Spikenard essential oils come from. This vendors Spikenard oil is one of the only true Rhizome essential oils I have ever found and I LOVE IT. I purchased it specifically because the Rhizomes of Spikenard contain GABAa Receptor Agonists & PAMs (Positive Allosteric Modulators of GABAa subtype receptors) that induce a deeply calming trance-like state of consciousness when used in aromatherapy and transdermal drug delivery. I combined this Spikenard Rhizome EO with their Myyrh & Boswellia carterii EO for a transdermal preparation & daily cologne. LOVE IT
